Basically because for progressives to be toppling all these establishment Dem candidates indicates that the greatest fear of the GOP is coming true: people who have hitherto NOT voted are starting to vote. Repubicans depend on low turnout, especially during midterms, for their electoral victories--they know they are on the wrong side of both history and public sentiment, and that the ONLY way they can win is, by hook or by crook, getting more of their voters out to vote than the apathetic Dem constituencies do. But as both Obama and these recent victories of Gillum in Jacksonville, Ayanna Presly in Boston, Alexandria Ocasio in NYC all show, when those constituencies ARE motivated to vote, they can more than provide the balance needed to offset the old white folk showing up to vote Republican.

This is not good news for the GOP come this November. Remember that even safe seats can be put in play if the voting base increases in number on either end--so many Dems lost in 2010 because Republicans turned out far more of their base while Dems sat home content with their guy in the WH.

Things might be a bit different this time around.

There have been NO progressive victories ( wait until general election) AND the nut jobs that have won primaries will get vanquished in the general.

Poor Wale was too stupid to know what a fucking primary is......read Mickey's first sentence again...and then commit suicide if you still don't understand.
"My position concerning God is that of an agnostic. I am convinced that a vivid consciousness of the primary importance of moral principles for the betterment and ennoblement of life does not need the idea of a law-giver, especially a law-giver who works on the basis of reward and punishment." Yeah, and picking a guy for the SCOTUS who has pretty much said that he will overturn Roe and heck, let's add Griswold to that, too... The GOP is really stupid. They are overplaying their hand. They wake up the sleeping masses and they start voting and the GOP will not only never have the Presidency again, they will never control either house of Congress.
