Just testing out the new forum. One thing I note is that page 1 is the first page ever, 2009, rather than the most recent . They should change that.

It appears that old threads, all the content that was migrated from the old servers, are listed in random order.  New threads, like this one, appear on the last pages of the listings in order of their creation date/time.

has bones even attempted to set the threads list to chronicalogical order present to old?  It says on the help forum that this is the problem here.

So what if you use the Cyrillic Alphabet. Does that mean you CAN'T learn anything about the universe?

What about character languages?

Roman numerals?

And what is this little blue tag "Local conservation success" that appears on the right hand side of the reply function mean?

No.  It does not mean that.

What about character languages?

Doesn't rule those out, though one would have to learn thousands of "letters" as opposed to 26.

Roman numerals?

Doesn't entirely rule those out either, though one would have to employ an additional layer of encryption of an alphabet of some sort into Roman numerals.  That's kind of fitting considering that in the 1950s Lambros Callimahos developed and taught the Intensive Study Program in General Cryptanalysis at the NSA until 1977.

And what is this little blue tag "Local conservation success" that appears on the right hand side of the reply function mean?

It appears to be some kind of leftover debug code in the applet for creating posts.  It is apparently letting one know that what is being entered has successfully been converted to HTML code.

What are we going to do?  We can't go on like this.  That stupid blue sign about conservation has nothing to do with copy and paste.  What is the stupid sign for?  I can't even click on it it is so elusive.

Just relax. These things never go perfectly. It will take a bit of time to work out the bugs. They will simply deal with them one at a time. I saw on the help forum that there was one owner whose forum disappeared, so I imagine something like that is their priority, getting all the forums up. Then they will move on to the other things, like listing threads, adding the quick reply, getting peoples images migrated, the profile so we can change avatars and sigs and things.

But it's not all going to happen at once. There's probably a lot of debugging going on, so give them the chance to do their work.

Hola, hola everyone.  For the time being, I'm "Yekyua2" with generic avatar - unable to log in with original nic due to having forgotten password.  To retrieve or change it required accessing an email acct I no longer have and blah blah, accessibility hell.  1st world problem for sure.  :-)

At least all content seems to have migrated successfully (over one million replies!), so that's a plus. Hopefully the search feature will be revived, and perhaps improved.  It's indispensable for pitched battles. How the hell can members locate triumphant proof that their forum enemy fibbed about what they posted two years ago?  Lol!

Bogus, thanks for offering your expertise during transition, and clear instructions on editing url to get to most recently posted threads!  Really helpful.

I agree.

I started a thread earlier today titled "Bones".  I just went back to my post (new thread) and it gave me the option to "Edit" it, which I did and it worked.  Maybe there's hope :)

Yes, I agree we need to be patient.  However, in the interim having to alter a url every time i want to get to the most recent thread is a bit annoying.  I mean i dont care what certain members are saying today.   So why would i give a rats ass what they were thinking in 2009?  And having no edit or delete function is beyond simple annoyance.  And this Chinese jibberish and broken English simply has to go.  Oh well, its like a kidney stone.  It too shall pass.

It would help if they had someone on their staff who could actually read, write, speak and understand the English language.  And yes.  I realize English may not be their first.language.  But that is an excuse rather than a reason.  Either gain a mastery of English in a snort period of time, or hire someone who is already fluent.

Hooray!  Finally able to access with my original nic, but see no profile info formerly there, other than name, birthdate, country.

Now, how to figure out to delete the new "member" duplicate who got registered somehow as male from a country unknown ... I swear, it wasn't a sly announcement, not that there'd be anything wrong with that as Seinfeld said. Lol.

I'm going to wait to attempt anything other than brief text only messages til chaos no longer reigns.  And must say I do like those quirky Chinese emojis!

April - I have never invited anyone to FSA. Want to join? I might approve. Want to leave? I don't care. Act up? I'll cancel your membership if I feel like it.

That said, since I am the owner of FSA and who is or is not welcome is personal, the answer to your question (if I were actually inviting anyone) would be "That is none of your business."

Bones has not invited or failed to invite anyone.  The board is undergoing a major software overhaul by whomever owns Aimoo boards. In the process, many problems are emerging, making it difficult for members to post in the way they are used to posting, or even to get on the board.  Hopefully, little by little these glitches will be fixed.  In the meantime it's frustrating for everyone.  None of these problems are directed towards you, personally.

Wow.  This has been a trying time for everyone.  I kept getting everything in Chinese, with warnings about hackers and such.  I'm sure others did, too.

All in all, it was a great time for my refrigerator compressor (is that what it's called) to fail, along with my standing freezer in the basement.  Fun as hell, considering they are Sears products and Sears is going bankrupt.  So we are living out of styrofoam coolers, running to the basement every 15 minutes for stuff out of the extra refrigerator down there.  I read a lot of reviews on Sears, because we've had trouble with their service department now for over a year, and people have gone for five, six, seven months without refrigerators, waiting for Sears to get the parts and make the repairs, which, I gather, half the time don't last, and several reviews where customers had to contact BBB to get them to honor their maintenance contracts and replace the unit, so we bit the bullet and bought a new one Saturday, but it won't come until Thursday....

Used some of the down time to get a bunch of stuff together to take to my favorite, church-based thrift store.  Amazed by how many sheets and towels I had for two people, pillow cases......probably took them 30 pair or more of barely-worn, freshly laundered socks, about ten blankets, some clothing, shower curtains, etc.  Three closets done, more to do!

Try to remember the kind of September when men weren't girls and girls weren't fellas..................

If so, I imagine they may feel the pressure there to get this resolved.   I am also thinking they have a limited budget for this type of thing.

Just winging it here so to speak, not really surprised at the misfires from Aimoo and still trying to figure out some of this mess. The one silver lining...Aimoo has no control over NFL football. For now I'm more of a lurker and still learning the finer points of this God-awful mess Aimoo calls an improvement. Another perfect example of the human penchant for fixing things that already work. Whoo boy.
