After having wood floors put in my house a few weeks ago, I have been investigating ways of keeping my floors as clean as possible.  Yesterday, I took the plunge and bought an Ibot Roomba. I had him clean my floors yesterday afternoon and he did a pretty good job. The cats were afraid of him.  LOL. I have named him Drogon. He will start his scheduled cleanings today at 1 P.M.  Anyone here have any experiences with these that they are willing to share? I am hoping he will be the answer to my pet hair tumbleweeds.....

UPDATE:  I also bought the Eufy 11 Plus. I am trying them both out and will return the one that I like the least. The Eufy has a much larger capacity collection bin and is 100 times quieter than the Roomba. It seems to find its docking station a little easier than the ROOMBA and it hugs the edges of the walls better. The suction is supposed to be better than the ROOMBA, however, that remains to be seen. It is also about 50 bucks cheaper.  It does NOT, however, have the phone app features that the ROOMBA has. For me, it will come down to the differences in the cleaning functions.

My GSD sheds like crazy, 24/7. I'm very interested in something that can keep up with the constant fur storm.
Live it or live with it.

Well, I gotta tell you. This thing is a miracle for us. I have used both the Roomba and the Eufy now.  Both are excellent and I would keep both if I needed two. But I only need one. After just one week, my house is sooooo much cleaner. I come home very day to no dust bunnies. My GSD has short hair, but still sheds like crazy. These little gems really do cut down on the hair in my house.  Now I have wood floors in the living areas, so I cannot say how well they do on carpet yet. There are some differences and similarities between the Roomba and the Eufy. See below:

 The Roomba 690:

-Has 1 brush on the front

- Has a cool phone app that tells you when cleaning begins, ends and the unit docks. It also tells you if it gets stuck somewhere and has a locate button. Can schedule daily cleanings.

- It is about as loud as a normal vacuum

- Cleans rugs, but misses spots

- Runs for about 58 minutes and then returns to base for a charge

- It sometimes cannot find the charging base and the vacuum continues to run while it searches. Sometimes the battery runs down before it can find the charging station

- Gets stuck under my recliner sometimes

- Has a cool room blocker device to keep it out of areas you don't want it in

- Must de-clutter prior to cleaning i.e. phone charging cords, basic pick up

- Picks up well, but the collection bin is fairly small and fills up in a hurry if you have pets

- Will not climb up on my fireplace hearth (about two inches up)

- No remote

- Does not like high pile rugs like microfiber. It will try to clean it but just bunches it up

- Slams into baseboards and furniture legs pretty hard

- Has 1 cleaning mode

- Works with Alexa

- Retails for $299.00 at best buy

The Eufy 11 plus:

- Has 2 brushes on the front plus two replacements and a replacement filter

- Has no phone app

- Quieter than the Roomba, especially on rugs/carpet

- Cleans rugs VERY well. Never misses a spot

- Not sure about battery life yet. But I ran it for 58 minutes yesterday and it was still going.  I forced it to return to home base for a charge.

- Finds its charging base pretty well. The vacuum turns off while it searches for the base, conserving battery power

- It did not get stuck under my recliner

- Has no room blockers but you can just close the door

- Must de-clutter prior to cleaning i.e. phone charging cords, basic pick up.

- Picks up great. Amazing suction and the collection bin is larger than the Roomba

- Does climb up on my fireplace hearth (about two inches up)

- Has a remote. Can schedule daily cleanings.

- Does not like high pile rugs like microfiber. It pushes mine out of the way

- Because of its longer brushes in the front, it does not slam into furniture or baseboards. It actually senses something there and buffers and slows down before reaching the object. It does not hit furniture

- Has 4 cleaning modes on it. Edge, circular, one room and normal. Also has a power suction boost.

- Does not work with Alexa out of the box. But you can buy a special outlet plug that will make it work with Alexa if you want to

- Retails for 249.99 on Amazon

So, I think that despite the cool phone app and wireless features that the Roomba has, I will be keeping the Eufy and returning the Roomba. If I had not found the Eufy, I would have kept the Roomba.  It works well. But the Eufy out performs the Roomba. Feel free to ask me any questions that I have not answered.

I bought a Bobi Pet Hair Robot.  Liked it so much I got another.  What I really love about it is the ultraviolet light that makes the room smell as though it has been ionized.  We have all tile.  It gets along edges very, very well, runs about 75 minutes on one charge, returns to its dock, has a blocking device if you need it so it doesn't fall down stairs, etc.

Very affordable.  I bought mine from Amazon and Walmart.  I think the Walmart one was a little cheaper, but they are identical.  Around $250-$275.

Love them!!!!
