I think members started going to a new site and, being lazy, and involved in convos there, aren't patronizing this site anymore. Sad, but it is what it is. I'm transitioning right now at work, so don't have as much time for now as I generally do, others may as well have things going on, but I think the other site, wherever it is, is probably taking up a lot of the energy.

Yeah, everybody seems to have beat feet over to the ProBoard forum:

I guess, they just couldn't stick around long enough to wait out the debugging process.  Though, I have to admit at losing patience with the the new owners of aimoo's really, really fucked up way of launching the new and improved aimoo.  They literally, and intentionally went live with most of the core features not fully debugged and some not even implemented at all at launch.  Those were "phased in" as the live, on the fly debugging show progressed.

Dare I hope that, with the bulk of FSA members posting away at the new site, FSA might become a refuge of respectful and thoughtful discourse? Smaller but with less vitriol and blather.

And bogus, I agree. Wouldn't you think they'd have run a test run of one of the forums? Copy an existing one, one of the larger ones, replies included, push it over and see what happens. Ah well, live and learn.

Of late haven't had much time to do anything but drivebys anyway, due to imminent arrival of grandson (relatives from Japan arriving, showers, etc.).

I'd prefer to remain here, but admit the snappy performance, design and features of the ProBoard are seductive - LOVE that time elapsed since a post was sent is shown, as one can quickly review what's been read on 1st page.  Also the autosave, which prevents those brilliant, carefully composed posts from evaporating if site is accidentally closed, or PC shuts down.

One benefit of remaining in existing site are archives for reference.  And Bones!  Anyway will likely settle on Aimoo as primary hangout, drawbacks and all, though may occasionally post elsewhere.

I still buzz around this forum occasionally, never was an adamant poster but I still prefer the Bones' style, the patience of a saint.  I'm also a member of that other forum but honestly don't see that much interaction and besides...I can't seem to reclaim my avatar...

I think for the time being I will continue to grace this forum with my once in a blue moon presence...

Well, Yobbo,, it could be time  to find another reason  to get out of be in morning.

To the thread topic -  I have been pretty busy myself.  Frankly have a conversion due at my company this September that frankly could use alot more testing, etc. also  before the go live date planned.   I am wondering it being  a public company, walking back the deadline a few months (we would wait till after Christmas then) might be harder to announce.

Anyyway, have been hoping more of the issues will have worked themselves out by then.  I have not checked out the new spot.

Hey Tom.  Pay no mind to our bitter, cynical and ever curmudgeonly Kiwi (as I'm pretty sure you already don't...).  the only condition you might infect this board with is civility.

The conversion you speak of is of the secular sort, I'm guessing.  ;-)

See, this is why I'd prefer to stay here.  If separated, what will happen to the entertaining, adversarial couples and their ongoing exchanges?   Lol.

Perhaps this will be a salutary shakeup, as Bones suggested. And I really do like those Chinese emojis.  There's an entire page of the Panda (BOBO) alone!

Ed - and Youtube is back

LOL, yeah - but rather challenging for similiar reasons to attempts at religious or political conversions.

Me too, LOL

So good to see you’re still posting however rare the occasion.  Tend to brace myself for sadness after such a long time away. Couldn’t bear the topics filling the front page some time ago; whimsy brings me back every now and then.

Pretty much get the urge to write out of my system on Facebook.  However, no political or religious discussion ends well there; scroll is still my friend and I don’t have to like, every post.  Great sense of what family is doing through pictures and comments emerges on the bright side of their lives (seems to be an unwritten rule about it, though it’s occasionally broken).

Met some interesting cousins who seem to share my interests more than closer family members, and some long lost friends have appeared.....sweet that I don’t have to repeat myself when they can just go through the posts on my wall.

Again, freedom of speech is not really free on Facebook

My poor daughter takes a beating every now and then, trying to better the world.  Son3 enjoys stirring up the family with politics and religion, lives across the country from them and just laughs at advice to stop....it’s too much fun to set them straight.

Age has been good for me:  I just don’t care about so many things that would have upset me years ago.

Still, I love the minds at work and the freedom of expression in groups like this.
