I expect that they think information about other Middle Eastern religions to be false, especially the dates.

After all, Zoroastrian fables precede Judaic ones by centuries. Most scholars believe Genesis was written around 1450BC while Gilgamesh epics date from 2100BC, perhaps as early as 2800BC.

It is fair to say that Most Christians believe that the bible is the word of god.  But sensible scholars disagree with the time lines of both Moses and Gilgamesh.

You may think that, Tom, but you know what I absolutely know?

I know, without the slightest doubt what so ever, that you absolutely suck at mind reading.

It's not mind reading. You know the old saying actions speak louder than words.

Wale,

you quote the bible as your thoughts.

You belittle me for quoting other atheists.

Do you see an anomaly here?

When wale63 mentions "reality," particularly when he posits that I, or anyone else for that matter, am/are avoiding existing in reality please note the following Venn diagram.

What actions, Tom?  Be specific and detail the reasoning that connects said actions to you knowing what I'm thinking.  More specifically prove that your statement, given in reply #150, is not you mind reading.  To refresh, that statement is:

Whenever folk have posted as you do, it has turned out to be a lack of confidence in their position.

If what you are saying is that you are that rare exception - well again, this goes back to the fact that - in time, we will see.

Specifically, what is it that showed to you that whenever "folk" like me post as I have, it is because of a "lack of confidence" in our position?  And why, other than your apparent desire that it be so, do you think it applies to me here?

I am in many ways quite the exception to people's expectations and assumptions about me.  I have no doubt that this true in this case.

As for the assumed 'fact,' it is with equal possibility that you will either never see, or will be quite unpleasantly surprised by what you see.

You do realize how predictable that was?

Anyway, I bring it  up again because for some reason, it unsettles you.   I think I know why - but frankly I think it moot as long as you cannot even be honest about that.

It is the human condition - I don't know if any one can be frankly honest with him/her self apart from the assistance of the Creator.
