https://www.prageru.com/videos/why-does-america-spend-so-much-israel

Video by Chuck Wald, US General

Focuses on why it is in America's self interest (from his POV) of the security benefits alone (he notes there are others) in supporting Israel.   I was surprised to find that we are talking 38 billion over 10 years.   I guess with the deficit and other expenditures, that did not seem like alot per se.

Easyrider:   earn about the House’s recently passed bill which expands the $38 billion aid agreement signed under President Obama.

Link: The AIPAC sponsored bill that guarantees $38 billion to Israel over the next ten years

Thanks for confirming that the 38 billion figure is correct - as noted, I was surprised it was not more.    And per the article, apparently 38 billion is the minimum to be given over 10 years - so more could be given.  (I would guess will).

Folk may disagree about the wisdom of giving Israel (or any nation) such aid, and that is understandable.   But 3.8 billion/year by itself given the US budget, deficit, etc. not anywhere as big as I expected.

No, I'm saying that the 3.8 billion figure looks good on paper. But I'm sure it is incomplete.

Are you so naive as to not understand that the 3.8 is the "official" figure, but I believe the actual figure is much higher. I'm not going to bother researching all the links you will wat, but do your own homework if you're able. Let me just say there are costs to the American taxpayer that are not included.

You can 'believe' the actual figure is much higher----that is your right.  But you have given us nothing to support your belief, and you continue to conflate 'other' spending with 'defense' spending.

A lot of stuff is 'public information' EZ.  Not all of it is true.

My question remains:  How do you KNOW that what you believe is the truth?

Oh, possibly.   Just like the promises of various leaders will cost us more than the "official" figure.  Think national healthcare. But per your article, 3.8 billion per yeat is the minimum that will be sent.    True?
